CME credits are applicable as per National Medical Commission guidelines. Members of GSI Kerala receive priority registration and preferential rates for all CME events.
Annual State Conference — Kerala GSICON
The annual Kerala GSICON is the flagship academic event of GSI Kerala. The conference brings together geriatric medicine specialists, physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals from across the state and beyond for a day of academic exchange, networking, and professional development.
Kerala GSICON 2026 will be held at Hyatt Regency, Thrissur on 4 October 2026. It is the Second Annual State Conference of GSI Kerala.
Medical Camps for Geriatric Patients
GSI Kerala organises free medical camps specifically designed for geriatric-age patients. These camps, conducted in collaboration with hospitals and community organisations, provide comprehensive geriatric assessment, health screening, and specialist referrals to elderly persons who may otherwise lack access to specialist care.
Research Promotion
GSI Kerala supports clinical research, case study documentation, and academic publications in geriatric medicine. Members are encouraged to submit research for presentation at state and national conferences. The Society also facilitates study circles and academic discussions among members.
Patient & Public Awareness
Through community outreach, radio and television appearances, and social media engagement, GSI Kerala conducts sustained public awareness campaigns on healthy ageing, recognition of geriatric syndromes, caregiver education, and access to elder care services.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
The Society actively collaborates with other medical associations, government health departments, academic institutions, and non-governmental organisations working in the field of elder care and gerontology. This interdisciplinary approach ensures that GSI Kerala's work has broad impact across the healthcare system.
